I heard more than one person writing or talking about going to Monmouth Park Raceway today to see the ponies.
Of course, the day of the Belmont is a big day to go to the track and get a bet down on the last Triple Crown race, so that was probably why. I was just looking for something to do with the kids.
I had forgotten how kid-friendly Parx is. The had free pony rides, a free bounce pit thing, the staff was friendly, admission and parking are FREE, and they have lots of security. I’m not sure if the kid attractions are only there on big race days.
The only drawback is that there is a ton of cigarette smoke. That aside, you can’t beat it on a nice day.
